The Power of Preparation: 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting

For the first time in the history of Faith Camp, we embarked on a 40-day journey of prayer and fasting. The preparation was intense but deeply fulfilling, as we committed ourselves to seeking God's glory. Every day, we met in prayer at 5 am, 12 noon, and 8 pm, each session accompanied by themes and actions for the day. These prayers focused on God manifesting His glory and moving among us, and we witnessed His presence like never before. By the time we reached camp, the anticipation and expectation were unmatched, and we were ready to see God's glory revealed.

God's Hand at Work

1. The Numbers, Venue and financial Miracle

For the first time in the history of Faith Camp, we had over 100 participants registered—a surprise that filled our hearts with awe and gratitude, prompting us to glorify God. The venue we typically use accommodates a maximum of 50 participants, which led us on a journey to explore additional spaces. By God’s grace, Stephanie, a member of Missionary Families of Christ(MFC) serving in Malawi, discovered a new venue while traveling to Lilongwe for Faith Camp Leaders training. Living in Mangochi, where the new venue was located, she had no idea that God was guiding her there, especially since we were uncertain about how we would accommodate everyone.

The new venue not only offered more rooms to house a larger number of participants but also had additional space for extra mattresses. After negotiating and praying fervently, we secured this space, enabling us to comfortably accommodate 70 participants—a true testament to God’s provision in action. It's important to note that Faith Camp is subsidized, as many participants are still studying, recently graduated, or just starting their careers. Our camp relies heavily on the kindness of well-wishers, and this year was no different.

As we made preparations, we recognized the need for an emergency meeting regarding the Faith Camp 2024 fees, which were set at MWK 45,000 (about $26 USD) to cover accommodation, transport, and food. During our meeting, we discovered a shortfall of MWK 2,000,000 ($1,100 USD). In a moment of desperation, we offered a short prayer—initially intended to bless the food—but we humbly asked God to provide for our needs. Miraculously, just two days after that prayer, well-wishers stepped forward, and the funds were raised. What an incredible God we serve—Jehovah Jireh!

2. Music Equipment: A Prophetic Fulfillment

Another incredible aspect of this camp was the music equipment. In July, during our prayer sessions, a prophetic word was spoken about acquiring speakers before the month ended. All the while we had been hiring the PA system. Despite our initial searches revealing high prices, God orchestrated a miracle. We ordered the necessary music equipment, and it was delivered in time before the camp, marking a significant moment of God's faithfulness.

3. Healing Sessions: A Special Move of God

Every year, we conduct healing sessions, but 2024 was truly unique. As I led the healing session for new participants, Steph was on the other hand guiding those who had attended the camp before. I felt God’s presence healing and delivering souls throughout the experience. One particularly memorable moment occurred when participants were invited to revisit their childhood and play with Jesus. My daughter, only nine months old, began to make playful sounds in a room filled with silence. Her joyful noises resonated deeply with the older participants, beautifully illustrating the purity of childlike faith, to me this was her first step to serving God. Many participants testified about their experiences, sharing stories of liberation from unforgiveness, depression, anxiety, and fear. The intense presence of God genuinely broke chains and delivered souls.

4. The Worship Night: A Glimpse of Heaven

Every move of God is indeed different, and the worship night at this camp was unforgettable. Participants dressed in white, creating a beautiful atmosphere enhanced by the talented voices of Faith Connect Music. The outdoor setting, combined with thoughtful lighting, encouraged an atmosphere of worship that felt like heaven on earth. As we knelt and raised our hands in praise, basking in His presence many attendees found it hard to leave when it was time for the bonfire. The joy and reverence of that night left an indelible mark on our hearts. . It was a glimpse of heaven on earth.

5. The Sessions

The sessions during Faith Camp 2024 were thoughtfully designed to inspire and transform participants. Each session built upon the previous one, creating an environment for deeper faith exploration and personal growth.

Session 1: The Real You: The first session set the tone by helping us discover our true identity in God. Mada’s teaching revealed that we are more than what the world sees; we are God’s masterpiece, called to reflect His glory. Session 2: My Utmost for His Highest: by Simeon – A call to give God our very best, this session pushed us to rise above complacency and offer our utmost devotion and passion for His purposes. Session 3: My Passionate Purpose: by Br. Gomez –inspired attendees to discover and pursue their God-given passions. This session empowered participants to take actionable steps toward fulfilling their unique callings. Session 4: Giving Glory by Joseph – On the final day, Joseph wrapped it all up by teaching us how every act, whether big or small, can glorify God. It was a fitting conclusion that left us ready to live for the Glory.

6.Morning Devotions

Emily and Gerald led morning devotions, focusing on gratitude and God’s promises. These sessions provided a gentle start to each day, fostering community and spiritual unity.

7. Nature Prayers and Exercises

On Saturday morning, we gathered at the beach for nature prayers and exercises, led by Stephanie, Simeon and Esther. This beautiful setting allowed us to connect with God through His creation, breathing in the fresh air and soaking in the serenity of the lake. As we prayed and engaged in gentle exercises, we felt rejuvenated both physically and spiritually. The sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun on our faces created an atmosphere of peace that prepared our hearts for the day ahead.

8.The Pray Over Sessions

Saturday night we also had pray over sessions, where group leaders led powerful prayers of healing, impartation, and grace. These moments were filled with divine light and intervention, as we lifted up everything we had discussed during the camp. Participants experienced breakthroughs in these sessions, as leaders prayed for the very struggles and hopes shared in the group discussions.

9. The Fellowship

Lastly, the moments of fellowship were truly blessed. We enjoyed one-on-one conversations and group discussions that fostered lasting friendships. These interactions deepened our understanding of Jesus and His joy. Together, we served one another—whether cleaning dishes, setting up tables, or moving furniture—creating a spirit of cooperation and love.

Faith Camp 2024 was nothing short of glorious. From the miracles of provision to the deep spiritual encounters, we truly saw the hand of God at work. As we look to the future, we anticipate even greater things in the years to come. God’s glory was manifested in ways we couldn't have imagined, and we are excited to continue walking in His purpose, trusting Him to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or think.
